The Perfect Society

Throughout history many thinkers have held up honeybees as the perfect society. Honeybee colonies are orderly, productive, busy, produce a luxury food and valuable beeswax, and every individual has his or her place. In both Christian and pagan societies the priesthood took to beekeeping as the Gentleman?s animal husbandry. Religious orders required that candles used for ceremonies be made of beeswax instead of tallow.

Are honeybees a perfect society? Join John deGroot, an accomplished beekeeper, for an interesting, entertaining, and amusing examination of whether or not the reputation is deserved.

Informative and funny. I liked the alfafa and eucalyptus honeys best. Thanks, John!
