Due to the overwhelming demand for this meetup smile we are moving to the Jefferson Park Library. See custom directions below.

If you want to understand what happens at these book discussions, I must go to a great quote from Ayn Rand which appears in the introduction to the 25th anniversary edition of The Fountainhead:

"It does not matter that only a few in each generation will grasp and achieve the full reality of man's proper stature--and that the rest will betray it. It is those few that move the world and give life its meaning--and it is those few that I have always sought to address."

Millions of people over the past 65 years have been drawn to The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, because the novels resonate with them at some level, but most will never know why.

Rand's writing must appeal to your sense of life in some way, or you wouldn't be reading these words right now. Perhaps you have tried to find others who share this worldview, only to be left feeling disappointed, isolated, weird.

Our group is an outlet for people who are interested in Rand's ideas, and want a forum to share their perspectives with a receptive audience.

Let's hear from all of you who have expressed an interest. You won't be disappointed.

PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT.

Custom directions: The library is 1.5 blocks south of the Gale Street Inn, just west of Milwaukee on Lawrence. I wouldn't suggest walking from Gale Street, these are LONG blocks. The library is closer to the Jefferson Park "L" station. Parking is on-street metered, some on Lawrence and some just west and around the corner north on Long street. There's also a CVS on the corner (don't blame me if you get towed!)

I feel that I monopolized the discussion, and that others didn't get a chance to talk about what they wanted to talk about. There are a number of groups out there that talk about political action, but this group was supposed to be about ideas.
