I am contacting our democratic congressmen and senators with the following e-mail. This should hit em where it hurts. it only took 15 minutes Dear Congresswoman, There is currently a bill working its way through congress to Audit the Fed. I am asking you to support this bill on the grounds that inflating the money supply is most beneficial to rich bankers, and most detrimental to the middle class and senior citizens. Please understand that the money in your pocket is nothing more than PAPER, with nothing behind it other a law that says we have to accept it as payment. If the Federal Reserve is allowed to create money out of thin air, it robs the common man of his hard-earned dollar. We need to get angry about this and take the bull by the horns. PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT.

Next Thursday works better for me and Don, so I am moving the meeting. Come for a friendly discussion. At the last meeting Don, Mike, and I had a good talk. I'm sorry for leaving early. Isn't it fun to see the wheels come off the Obama healthcare steamroller? Just a few months ago they were saying conservatives are history. Now we're being accused of "staging" rallies. It's ok for Acorn but not for anyone else. what a joke. It's fun to see cash for clunkers fall on it's face as well. Typical government run debacle, quickly recharged with $2 billion of Monopoly money. Nancy Pelosi is ordering Lear jets on your dime, while teary-eyed business executives plead for her forgiveness. What is your favorite thing about Ayn Rand? Is it time to shrug? Are you an atheist? Are you a Libertarian, Republican, or God forbid a Democrat*? Why? How do you feel about the stimulus so far? *p.s. Democrats welcome. It makes the discussion livelier. We don't bite. PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT.

I have changed the date of the meetup. Come for a friendly discussion. At the last meeting the conversation took off so quickly there was no need for any help from your humble assistant organizer. But here are a few ideas just in case. Feel free to make up your own. What is your favorite thing about Ayn Rand? Is it time to shrug? Are you an atheist? Are you a Libertarian, Republican, or God forbid a Democrat? Why? How do you feel about the stimulus? PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT.

Come for a friendly discussion. At the March meeting the conversation took off so quickly there was no need for any help from me. But here are a few ideas just in case. Feel free to make up your own. Congrats to Ross on his new job in Phoenix. What can we do besides just talk? How about a debate? Invite some liberals? Why didn't you come last time? Bad location? Bad time? Are you all aware of Marsha's monthly meeting in Beverly? What is your favorite thing about Ayn Rand? Is it time to shrug? Are you an atheist? Are you a Libertarian, Republican, or God forbid a Democrat? Why? How do you feel about the stimulus? Should something be done about the Microsoft monopoly? PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT.

Thanks to Don for doing a great job as organizer. Unfortunately, he doesn't have time any more. Come next Thursday for a friendly discussion. I will go around the table and ask a few simple questions to get the conversation going. What is your favorite thing about Ayn Rand? Is it time to shrug? Are you an atheist? Are you a Libertarian, Republican, or Democrat? Why? Did you vote for Obama? How do you feel about the stimulus? How can we make inroads against the Daley Machine? Should something be done about the Microsoft monopoly? PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT.

PROPEL = Passionate Rational Objectivists Promoting Exuberant Living(TM)! The topic for this month's meeting is "The Age of Envy". If you can, pick up the book The New Left: The Anti-Industrial Revolution by Rand. It's actually a compilation of short essays she wrote in the 1960's and 70's. The ninth essay in the book is "The Age of Envy", but the whole book is very short. We will focus on the concepts in the "Envy" essay. I think you will find them very timely. For those of you who are seeing this meetup for the first time, I think it's important you understand that this is not a political action group, although politics does get discussed along with many other topics. The main focus is the philosophy itself and how it is expressed in Rand's work. People come to meet and discuss Rand's philosophy and want to know more. If you really want to understand what happens at these book discussions, I must go to a great quote from Ayn Rand which appears in the introduction to the 25th anniversary edition of The Fountainhead: "It does not matter that only a few in each generation will grasp and achieve the full reality of man's proper stature--and that the rest will betray it. It is those few that move the world and give life its meaning--and it is those few that I have always sought to address." Our group is an outlet for people who are interested in Rand's ideas, and want a forum to share their perspectives with a receptive audience. PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT.

Due to the overwhelming demand for this meetup we are moving to the Jefferson Park Library. See custom directions below. If you want to understand what happens at these book discussions, I must go to a great quote from Ayn Rand which appears in the introduction to the 25th anniversary edition of The Fountainhead: "It does not matter that only a few in each generation will grasp and achieve the full reality of man's proper stature--and that the rest will betray it. It is those few that move the world and give life its meaning--and it is those few that I have always sought to address." Millions of people over the past 65 years have been drawn to The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, because the novels resonate with them at some level, but most will never know why. Rand's writing must appeal to your sense of life in some way, or you wouldn't be reading these words right now. Perhaps you have tried to find others who share this worldview, only to be left feeling disappointed, isolated, weird. Our group is an outlet for people who are interested in Rand's ideas, and want a forum to share their perspectives with a receptive audience. Let's hear from all of you who have expressed an interest. You won't be disappointed. PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS EVENT. Custom directions: The library is 1.5 blocks south of the Gale Street Inn, just west of Milwaukee on Lawrence. I wouldn't suggest walking from Gale Street, these are LONG blocks. The library is closer to the Jefferson Park "L" station. Parking is on-street metered, some on Lawrence and some just west and around the corner north on Long street. There's also a CVS on the corner (don't blame me if you get towed!)

Although we're using the name Fountainhead Group to reserve our table at the Gale Street Inn, we talk about much more than just the one Ayn Rand novel. This month we won't stick strictly to the Fountainhead, but to a discussion of Rand's work, both fiction and non-fiction. Right now a couple of our regulars can't make it in October, but we have another newbie who we'll meet tomorrow.
