Sumit-
You still have not defined intelligence so anything you say about it has no meaning! State your definition first before any further discussion! |

Ninad-
He says the issue involved here is rationality and not exactly intelligence! In fact Ayn Rand defined Roark as a man of average intelligence in her journals. It is their relentless [Roark's and Galt's] application of reason which is the more important thing here and not exactly their intelligence! With this standard it seems the mythological characters being discussed here were in fact irrational! [This is what I would call as hitting two birds with one stone - Roark and Galt are men of average intelligence while Pro,Ram and Kris are irrational! Ayn Rand????? |

Sumit -
I disagree that AR treated Roark and Galt as men of average intelligence! So according to you there is a difference between intelligence and rationality.Define both!I would like to hear your definition! |

Intelligence is simply the brain content! The greater the brain content the greater will be the ability of the person and the greater will be the reluctance to do silly things!Observe how many things Roark
refuses to do!And as for the creativity or intelligence of Roark and Galt - How many can design buildings like Roark and invent like Galt? As for Krishna, how many can .............? Rationality is about using reason, logic etc. Edited by User 2,217,758 on Jun 28, 2005 7:57 AM |

Sagar says - 'Of what use is intelligence without the morals to guide it!'
Well, the proper moral code is given in The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged and the life of Krishna! ![]() |

The life of Krishna,by the way,is the most advanced and the ultimate
enjoyable state of existence which even Ayn Rand could not grasp within her lifetime! But I have done it! ![]() |

Rebirth - When the same genes are expressed again the same man
is born again! It is as simple as that! There are only about 30,000 genes in our body. And 99.9 % of this genes are the same for every human being! It is only the 0.1 % of genes which gives rise to the differences which we see in different races, the sexes - the males and females, the intelligence level which varies from individual to individual and any other charecteristic say which is unique to a person like his voice etc. ![]() |

Hello,
Finally it might be that less than 10 genes actually determine our brain content and whose combinations would give rise to say, less than 10 billion unique individuals in the human race! But 10 billion is not a small number! The earth cannot support more than 13 billion people which is double the present size of 6.5 billion! ![]() |

Hello,
You do not have to measure intelligence to show that two persons are different! You just have to look at their faces!Ask why twins almost look the same.Because their brain content is almost the same but not exactly equal! You may die after your 100 years but your genes will continue to exist in the human gene pool which is the human population! [A la Krishna's statement - 'Nobody ever dies!']. A single man and woman in principle can give birth to the entire mankind if they were to visit the maternity ward for 10 billion times! ![]() Edited by User 2,217,758 on Jun 29, 2005 2:43 AM |

Philosophy deals with everything that exists in the universe!
So one will have to explain everything about existence. What is the origin and evolution of the universe and what is man's place in it.Is there more than one universe? Is there any God there?Or are there human beings in other planets or are there aliens out there? The sun will last us another 5 billion years. So must we build spaceships to escape the solar system by then?Is such a thing possible in the first place or is our fate tied to this planet earth and the lifetime of the sun? ![]() Edited by User 2,217,758 on Jun 30, 2005 2:16 AM |
