Hello everyone,

My name is Rick Roberts. I am a graduate of Wake Forest University, living in Melbourne, Florida. At the suggestion of Luke Setzer I am posting tonight on a serious matter. I have been an avowed Objectivist for several years now, having read most or all of about 12 books in the Objectivist lexicon.

Although I have also been an active and supporting National LP member since the Harry Browne days, I have recently discovered what I consider to be the error of my ways, and I am making arrangements to change my political affiliation.

Luke suggested that I write you all tonight in the hopes that we can find representation for me in an extremely long-and-protracted legal case that has arisen out of a long list of aggregious civil rights violations against me. I know that many of you may want to hear all the details, but I have decided to abridge these a bit to save space and to save face.

So, I'll keep it simple. My parents were turned against me by the military following 9-11, and they poisoned me. I have been physically abused several times in the hospital system, and nearly murdered there also. I'm relieved to say that I have several pieces of concrete evidence to verify my claims, including proof of government involvement with my parents, and the hospital misdeeds.

I started out strong some time ago, calling Legal Aid locally and going to their recommended law firms, but that turned out to be a waste of time, as the referral service sent me to the wrong type of lawyer first, and the other lawyers I called on were not interested, and made dubious statements to the effect that the case was invalid.

Next, I tried the Florida Bar Association lawyer referral service, and got nowhere with them either. So, I began to make contacts on the internet with the local, state, and national ACLU. I also contacted my local and national LP, ARI and TOC, The HRC, HRW, Amnesty International, and my former teacher, Maya Angelou - (hoping to get an "in" with Rainbow/Push.) Of all these, none of them produced any tangible results, although the civil rights organizations were encouraging, all stating that they were not denying the Validity of the case, but that they were just declining to actually Take the case.

So, now I am taking cues from Luke Setzer on continuing my search. I am sure that if all of this can come to light, I will be in a unique position to give generously to the Objectivist cause, and I would hope that this would encourage other Objectivists to lend a hand.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you can help!
